Meet Leah Kragh, OT
Can you describe what a typical day is like working at CFZ?
A typical day working at Cheshire Fitness Zone, I get up in the morning, I go work at the schools for several hours and then the evenings, I get to the clinic and I set up for my sessions, I gather all of the materials that I need, set up the room the way that it needs to be. I have kiddos back to back and towards the end of the night I clean up, set the gym up the way I found it and then I go do my billing and notes and then I am done for the day!
How did you know you wanted to work with kids?
I knew I wanted to work with kids because their primary occupation is play and play is something I feel very enthusiastic about and I think it is an essential part of development as people.
What is your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part about my job is I get to learn from the kids and their families and through learning from them, I get to learn from myself.
What are 3 words to describe you and why?
Three words to describe me are enthusiastic, compassionate and curious. I would say that, I am enthusiastic because I really love expressing myself and being goofy with the kids. I am compassionate in the sense that I am emotional and I can sort of understand how any child can feel at any given moment and I can relate to the parents while I am doing my job. I would say that I am curious in the sense that I like to explore, I love to learn about new things and I think that all of those serve me well as a pediatric therapist.
What is something you wish to achieve over the next 10 years?
Over the next 10 years, I would like to achieve many things. I think most specifically in terms of working in pediatric therapy, I would love to work with more neurological populations and learn about the brain and how it relates to the bodies movements more.
